Meet Joan Hughes

For close to 40 years, my career has centered on improving people's lives. I've worked with teens and adults, government workers, employees, employers, business owners, diplomats, corporate executives, and university students.

Earlier in my career, as the owner of a corporate training company, I helped countless people to improve their communication and negotiation skills. An additional eight years of growing another successful business fine-tuned my ability to bring out the best in people. Whether it be through teaching, mentoring, coaching, or consulting, this is what excites me: to see the light go on in people as they discover just how great they really are! Nothing is more fulfilling to me than helping people to achieve their highest personal goals and dreams.

I was the first of a family of four. Being close to my father, who was a successful businessman, I was influenced by his down-to-earth, pragmatic and moral approach to life. At the same time, my father's no-nonsense attitude got filtered through my independent and creative nature and was transformed into a lifetime quest to discover universal truths - particularly those that have the potential to bind all human beings into one connected family.

"From my personal observations of the lives of many happy and successful people, I can say conclusively that what we truly desire is within our reach. That means that every single human being on this planet can have the life he or she wants.

Most of us however, are unaware of this fact or of the way to do it. This lack of awareness of our personal powers means that many of us miss out on a lot of great possibilities in our lives.

I would like to be able to do something to change this.

"For instance, early on in my career, I chose self-employment so that I could have freedom of choice in the direction my life would take. And both while I was married and later as a single parent, putting my role as a parent first, my work schedule was set up to coincide with my child's school hours, leaving me free to be with him after school and during his holidays.

"Luck? A blessing, to be sure, but not luck.

It was all by conscious design and was accomplished through the use of the same simple, creative principles taught in YOUR LIFE BY DESIGN Online Course and Coaching Program.

My life choices have included summers in Greece and winters in France, Mexico, and California, as well as a move to the country, where we built a straw bale home by the lake.

I've been a teacher, the owner of a training company, a professional artist, and a consultant in the Wellness Industry.

All by choice and all through the use of the same principles - Natural Laws that I teach through my coaching and online course.

Joseph Campbell speaks of the Hero Journey that we human beings are on in our lives. At the end of the journey, we, as heroes of our lives, are often inspired to return to the community and share with others the gifts we have been blessed with as a result of our journey.

The gifts I most treasure from my personal journey are my life experiences and the increased awareness and wisdom I have gained. Through YOUR LIFE BY DESIGN, I wish to give back to my World Community, by sharing the gift of knowledge and understanding that I have been so privileged to receive."
